While the final cost estimates are not yet available, we know the rough estimate will be $750,000 to build the clubhouse, $600,000 to produce one large turf field, and $150,000 to install some initial field lighting. Quite a challenge for a non-profit to raise $1,500,000, and that does not include all the smaller items like a public address system. Initially the clubhouse is the most important item, partly because there are no restrooms on the site and because OMM retains the rights to any concession revenue, so we can use that as a fundraising endeavor going forward. Envisioning tournaments and travel soccer fees, saving money by eliminating the ret on the Van Wyck office, we think we can raise half of the money through donations of money, goods, and services, and the rest will have to be through borrowing - to be paid off over time with proceeds from future (and yes, consistent) fundraising efforts.

How can you help?  Well, already have offers of certain building materials and we plan to publish a list of exactly what we will need so that you can consider if there is a way for you or your company can assist us.  We also have had several offers of services, maybe landscaping, maybe plumbing, and so on.  And of course there is money; we have established a separate bank account that is already the repository of the field bond money as well as any and all funds raised for this effort.  Almost through the 501.C3 designation process, we will soon be approaching corporations directly for sponsorship opportunities on our scoreboards and other signage, as well as asking you to look to your employers for gift-matching opportunities.
